Job Summary

WestCoast Church is seeking a creative and organized Social Marketing & Communications Assistant to help tell the story of what God is doing in and through our church. This role is responsible for creating, managing, and distributing digital content that reaches new people, engages our church community, and supports ministry growth.

While much of the work can be completed remotely, this role requires regular on-site presence during weekend services to capture video, photography, and personal stories. The ideal candidate is both creative and strategic—able to produce compelling content and understand how messaging drives engagement and next-step connections.

Ministry Area: Marketing and Communications

Position Type: Part-Time (10–15 hours per week)

Growth Path: Expanding to 20-30 hours per week

Work Location: Hybrid (Remote + On-Site for Weekend Services)

Compensation: Hourly (paid position)

Reports To: Overseeing Pastor / Church Leadership

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture photos and video during weekend services and church events
  • Create and publish content for social media, church website, and app
  • Edit and produce short-form and long-form video content
  • Design digital and print materials including slides, graphics, signage, and promotional pieces
  • Manage and maintain consistent messaging across social platforms
  • Collect and document testimonies, stories, and engagement opportunities
  • Create posts and messaging designed to generate new leads and engagement
  • Organize and transfer lead information to pastoral staff for timely follow-up
  • Track content output and engagement performance as directed

Required Qualifications

  • Active Vision Partner of WestCoast Church
  • Successful background check
  • Strong creative ability in video, photography, and visual storytelling
  • Experience shooting and editing video content
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or comparable graphic design software
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms
  • Understanding of how social media content generates interest and responses
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines

Work Schedule

  • Estimated 10–15 hours per week initially
  • Flexible weekday schedule with remote work options
  • Expected growth to 25–35 hours per week as the role develops

Compensation

  • Hourly pay, commensurate with experience
